What is the Problem, How Might We solve it?
The younger generations understand the importance of a healthy lifestyle. However, not all are taking action to maintain a healthy lifestyle. There might be a variety of reasons behind it:
- Busy work schedule. People are prioritizing work and sleep rather than exercising.
- For people who want to lose weight, they might not be able to see an immediate result
- They might not know what workouts will best fit them.
The Solution:
LEMON — LEMON is an APP that combines sleep, diet (nutrition), and socializing three aspects together to help people improve their lifestyles and health.
LEMON can help users record their daily intake of calories and nutrition and sleep circles. In this app, they can also set their daily/weekly exercise goals and get motivation and inspiration from other people’s exercise workout experiences and posts.

The Interviews:
Do younger generations know the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle?
Most of the younger generations know the importance of living a healthy lifestyle. However, not all younger people can maintain a healthy lifestyle, nor are they taking the actions to make the change.
Why aren’t the younger generations taking action to transition into a healthier lifestyle?
Based on my interviews, some interviewees think they’re still very young, and the health problems will only come with age. So, they don’t need to worry about exercise, nutrition, or sleeping circles until they get older. Some other young adults prioritize work, study, and success before exercise, sleep, and nutrition. Other younger adults think it’s too time-consuming to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
How do younger generations make choices between a healthy lifestyle and other things?
We live in a fast-paced society; the younger generations want to see immediate results after making specific changes or actions. Moreover, the younger generations are looking for an easier way/tool that contains all the necessary features they need.
What motivates them to make the change to have a better lifestyle?
Some of the interviewees’ said that they got sick from a previous bad lifestyle. Some people said when they see the immediate result from other people. Other people said having friends as role models motivate them to transition into a healthier lifestyle.

In conclusion:
The younger generation wants an easy tool that combines diet, nutrition, sleeping circle, and social features.
They want it to be easy, and they want to see there’re positive changes after they change their lifestyles!

How will we promote a healthy lifestyle for the younger generation through the social (chat & post) feature?
Competitor Analysis:
Finding some inspirations through Competitor Analysis: What is already in the market? How can we find a gap in current market?
Lose it!: Making counting calories simpler.
MyFitnessPal: Will have tools you need to successfully effectively take weight off.
MyPlate: Make every bite count.

Where are the opportunities?
All of the three apps’ main features are losing weight or counting calories, and their targeted audiences are older generations.
However, I want to create an app that one of its targeted audiences is mainly younger generations, and one of its main features will allow people to socialize with and support each other while they’re trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

An emphasis on the social feature?
Do the other apps have a social feature? If so, what are their strength and weaknesses?

Lose it!: They have a “Social” tab in the lower menu section, which makes it easy access for the users. However, most of the posts are mainly concentrate on losing weight.
MyFitnessPal: The social feature is hidden in the “more” selections tab, and the posts in the section are very outdated back in 2018. Some of the other posts in the community are even not active, some of their discussions are closed.
MyPlate: Easy access for the users since they have a “Community” tab in the lower menu section. The posts in their “Community” are mainly concentrate on the diet/ recipe sharing for people in the community. Most of their users are the older generations women who are passionate about cooking.

MVP
How do we introduce LEMON as a product different from the others? What should be the main Features (MVP)? What main features should we have to target the younger generations as our primary audience?

The primary four tabs in the lower tab menu bar will be the Recipes, Workouts, Community Posts, and Chat Tab. Since those are the four main features from the MVP, and those are the features that will keep our potential users engaged with the App.
